Voters in East Baton Rouge Parish will face a ballot full of candidates for everything from Justice of the Peace to United States Senate in the Nov. 4 primary and the Dec. 6 runoff. The process begins with qualifying, which will be held Aug. 20-22.
Qualifying forms will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20 to Friday, Aug. 22 at the Clerk of Court’s office at Baton Rouge City Hall, 222 St. Louis St., Room 179 and at the Clerk of Court’s branch office at 10500 Coursey Blvd. in Baton Rouge. In addition, the Clerk will receive qualifying forms at Zachary City Hall from 8 a.m. to 12 noon on Thursday, as a convenience for candidates from Baker, Zachary, and Central.
On the ballot will be one seat on the Court of Appeal, all 19th Judicial District Judges, all East Baton Rouge Parish Family Court and Juvenile Court Judges, East Baton Rouge Parish District Attorney, all justices of the peace and constables, and all school board seats for the East Baton Rouge, Baker, Central, and Zachary school boards.
